Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city’s main tabloid newspapers owe his wife, Chirlane McCray, and “all hard-working women” an apology. The New York Post paraphrased her in a headline as saying she was a “bad mom,” and the Daily News described her as saying she “didn’t want to be a mom.” The story stems from the First Lady’s comments to New York magazine that she felt conflicted about giving up her independence after giving birth to her daughter, Chiara. “I was 40 years old. I had a life,” she said. “Especially with Chiara—will we feel guilt forever more? Of course, yes. But the truth is, I could not spend every day with her. I didn’t want to do that.” Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
